The Tempelhof Airport in Berlin is a sprawling building covering some 1.2km. Beyond it is Tempelhofer feld, a park of sorts amid the derelict landing strips. However the imposing Tempelhof airport cuts this park off from the city as a whole. The purpose of this project is to establish that link between the park and the city of Berlin, using the Tempelhof as a medium. In order to achieve this, we created a series of interventions that enhanced and drew attention to different architectural conditions in the Tempelhof whilst also carving the most concise route to Tempelhofer feld. This route culminated in a new build in a single hangar in the Tempelhof acting as a community hub, teaching the history of the Tempelhof and connecting the park to the city.
