This differs from a traditional studio project and is therefore written rather than visual. This piece of work studies the link between cities and prosperity and how rural to urban migration has been a key factor in global economic growth experienced since the Industrial Revolution. In particular, it looks at the importance of emerging cities in Sub-Saharan Africa such as Lagos and Kinshasa which are expected to become some of the largest and most populous cities in the world by the end of the 21st century.
